How much should you budget for a wedding photographer?

Wedding photographers come in all different price ranges. On average, most couples will invest 10 percent of their budget on wedding photography. Your overall budget can affect what you will receive at the end of the day.

First decide which products and services you would like to have. Products and services can include wedding albums, digital files, engagement sessions, parent albums and much more. Your finished wedding album can cost just as much as your photo coverage.

Your total budget can effect what you will ultimately receive. However, if you go with a less experienced photographer you could still get everything you want. Keep in mind that with a less experienced photographer the final product may not live up to your expectations.

Another option, for getting what you want, is to cut your budget for other wedding vendors. Take a one to two percent cut on 3-5 other vendors and use that money for a more experienced wedding photographer.
